And so I'm off. Off to Africa. Off to explore. And perhaps even a little bit off my rocker! :) We'll see about that, and I humbly invite you all to follow along. The journey begins Oct 29, 2006.

OK - It's Official!

Five weeks till I take off! I've just begun my vaccinations, researching the necessary visas, etc. Overall, I'm more excited than anything, but also very overwhelmed -- lots still to do to wrap up life in DC, and lots to do to prep for the trip -- including developing my itinerary! At this point, I know two things:
  1. I fly to Johannesburg, South Africa on Oct. 29
  2. I hope to never be so desperate for a shower in Africa that I resort to this:
